George Russell is the new leader of the 2026 ‘Most positions lost’ ranking after the Monaco Grand Prix, a change driven by the stark arithmetic of starting sixth and being classified 12th at the Circuit de Monaco. That −6 swing on the day pushed his season total to −7 and, crucially, flipped the lead away from previous pacesetter Arvid Lindblad as this season’s net losses begin to separate into a clear front-running cluster.
Lindblad’s Monaco result underlined how quickly this table can turn: he recovered from 15th on the grid to finish seventh (78 laps, 6 points), which is exactly the kind of Sunday that stops the bleeding in a metric designed to punish lost ground. The consequence was still a heavy hit to his ranking position rather than his race classification — he dropped from rank 1 to rank 9, his season figure sitting at +4 — and it opened the door for others to consolidate their places near the top, including Isack Hadjar now second on −2 and Franco Colapinto third on 0.
There was a parallel shake-up around the top 10 cut line. Lando Norris and Oliver Bearman both moved up four places into the top 10 — Norris from 12th to eighth on +3 and Bearman from 14th to 10th on +5 — while Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon fell out. Ocon’s slide was the harshest of the movers: down eight places from ninth to 17th with a season valueDisplay of +10, while Gasly dropped seven spots from eighth to 15th on +7, leaving the mid-table of this ranking looking far less stable than the headline lead suggests.
